Hola from Guatemala! In 2 Cor. 14-17 Paul says “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. vs 15 For we are the fragrance of Christ to GOD among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. vs 16 To the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things? vs 17 For we are not like many, peddling the word of God, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of GOD.”
As a Christ follower, I am carrier of the sweet aroma of Christ…. not to man, but to GOD..to people I encounter, the fragrance can be death or it can be life. This fragrance IS pleasing to GOD. To others, life? or death? Here is the best part. THE Loving Father God has given all of us free will, none of us want to be “made to Love” it would not be love at all if we were not given a choice. From HIS LOVE, HE HAS CHOSEN us. Christ died for the sins ( separation from God) of the whole world. Now we have a choice to choose to receive this aroma as life.
.. Maybe we say yes to Christ for spiritual / eternal life and yet have not chosen to receive life in other areas that are still producing the smell of death. HE HAS SET US FREE! Now we have a part ….choosing…… Choosing to receive in those areas the aroma of life. The being saved in vs 15 is not only salvation as a one time event but deliverance from other death producing things in our life.
If we chose not to chose, I’m sorry that choice was made for us already through Adam and we ALL came through Adam and he produced the fragrance of death… Don’t be mad at him, we would have and still do make the same choices of thinking we know better than THE ONE TRUE GOD WHO CREATED US AND oh yea, Created THE UNIVERSE!!! :-).
2 Cor 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
Christ in us! Let’s ask The Father if we are a sweet fragrance to Him. Our peace and happiness is in choosing life!!
